Transformer Deliveries

Apr 24, 2026

As construction continues at Maisemore Solar Farm, an important milestone will take place on 30 April with the delivery of a 132kV transformer to site.

This transformer is the equipment that enables the electricity generated by the solar panels to be safely stepped up and fed into the local electricity network. In simple terms, it is a vital part of making the solar farm operational.

This delivery marks the first stage of the transformer installation works. Eight further transformer modules will be delivered over the coming period, with one transformer installed in each field, supporting the overall operation of the site once construction is complete.

All deliveries are being carefully planned and managed as part of the construction programme, with safety and consideration for the local area as a priority. While Persh Lane is narrow, trial runs have been carried out to understand where vehicles may need to position themselves within the road. Deliveries will move very slowly and with care, and each one will be accompanied by banksmen at both the front and rear to safely coordinate movements throughout the delivery.
