Delivery of 8 Transformer modules
May 07, 2026
Eight transformer modules will be delivered to site on 11 and 12 May, with one transformer installed within each solar field. These modules are essential to the operation of the site once construction is complete.
The transformer modules contain the electrical equipment required to safely step up the electricity generated by the solar panels before it is transferred to the onsite 132kV transformer and exported to the local electricity network. They are therefore a vital part of the solar farm’s infrastructure.
All deliveries are being very carefully planned and managed as part of the construction programme, with safety and consideration for the local area as a priority throughout. Although Persh Lane is narrow, trial runs have already been completed to understand vehicle movements, positioning and access requirements in advance.
During delivery, vehicles will move slowly and with great care. Each delivery will be accompanied by trained banksmen positioned at both the front and rear of the vehicle to coordinate movements, manage visibility and ensure the safety of all road users and nearby residents. These measures are in place to minimise disruption and ensure deliveries are carried out safely and responsibly.
