£13,000 from European Energy Developer Contribution Fund to Marksbury Village Hall

The completed works have created accessible access to the only playground in the village, with a gently sloping path winding down to the lower floor of the Village Hall, making it suitable for wheelchair users, pushchairs and small children.

While building works were underway, a local childminder noticed the changes and reached out to the hall to find out more about the newly accessible space.

What happened next is something truly special…
Her enquiry has now led to the creation of the first village playgroup in over 20 years, with plans to open 5 day a week, improving childcare for local residents.

This is exactly what community investment is about -small changes opening the door to big opportunities.
